Everyone’s getting so creative these days with their kid’s back to school/first day of school pictures. I love it! Good old Pinterest is helping parents come up with new and fun ways to celebrate milestones. And as much as I’d like to say I was creative with Abby’s back to school pictures, I was just happy I took pictures at all.
I didn’t even take them on the first day of school (shhhh…don’t tell anyone!).
And they weren’t even taken before the school day.
I just got around to taking them this afternoon…after Abby’s second day of school…and I had to bribe her with a glass of chocolate milk…and I did nothing fun or creative to mark this milestone (her “first day” of preschool)…goodness, I didn’t even notice her shoes were on the wrong feet until I downloaded the pictures onto my computer.
But hey, I took them…and even though there’s nothing extra creative about these pictures, there’s no way I’ll ever forget this particular first day of school…
How could I?
Abby is magical.
And Mackenzie is a ham.
And I couldn’t have asked for better “back to school pictures.”
On another note, Abby’s first two days went well. She wasn’t exactly given the smoothest start considering the fact that we flew in from Atlanta the night before her first day and she didn’t get in bed until ~10pm PST (1am EST…the time she’d been used to for 3 weeks), but she’s a trooper. She was absolutely exhausted the first day and all the new things (new teacher, new classroom, new routine, new friends) threw her off, but she came home in a GREAT mood today (hence the pictures). It’ll take a little time to adjust (especially considering her best friend from last year is now attending a new school – sad!), but if anyone can do it, it’s this girl!
Until next time,
