Thanks to all who participated – The winner will be announced shortly!
I play with a lot of toys.
I’m a dress up expert. A puzzle master. And a LEGO builder extraordinaire.
I have to be all of these things…because I’m a Mom.
And since I’m a Mom who
has to…I mean gets to play with a lot of toys, I’ve also become an expert at selecting really awesome ones (or so I like to think). I try to avoid toys that make too much noise or that have too many pieces (because no matter how much your kids…or husband…may “help” clean up, you’ll always be the one doing the majority of the work). I try to find toys that inspire imagination, that the girls can easily share, and that are worth keeping around during the annual “toy purge.”
That’s why I’m here to tell you about Green Toys.
At our house, we’re slightly obsessed with this line of toys. Our first experience with the brand was when my Mom gifted Abby the Build-a-Bouquet. That was over a year ago (maybe even two…it’s hard to keep track of anything these days) and not a day goes by without the girls pulling the flowers out. They build beautiful gardens, they “pick flowers” for Mommy and Daddy, and they even pretend that the flowers are lollipops. They LOVE them (especially the pink and purple flowers, go figure!). They love them so much that my Mom bought another set for her house in Atlanta so that every time we visit, the girls will have an awesome toy to play with.
After we fell in love with the Build-a-Bouquet, we starting Building-a-Fleet of Green Toys. We have a boat in the tub, we have trucks and buses outside, and we have trains, tools and tea cups in the playroom. Gosh, even baby Caroline has an elephant “push toy” for when she starts playing with toys. The funny thing is that when I look at their website or when I’m standing in line at Whole Foods waiting to check out, I can’t help but admire the Green Toys we don’t have in our “fleet.”And trust me, it takes a lot of will power on my part to leave the new ones behind.
In my opinion, the Green Toys line is a shining star in the world of toys because it’s made of 100% recycled plastic, it’s made in the USA, there’s no BPA, PVC, or phthalates, it’s safe to use with food in the event your “pretend” tea party becomes a real one, AND it’s dishwasher safe. It doesn’t get much better than that.
It’s also really fun to mix and match the different sets, like when the astronaut rides the train or the bear turns into a makeshift popsicle when placed on a screw driver (ouch!).
Last but not least, the only noises they produce are coming from my happy girls hammering away on nails, crashing trains into rocket ships, and stopping to smell the flowers. Simply put, Green Toys are the BEST toys.
And now I’m super excited to say that Green Toys has been generous enough to giveaway FOUR toys (two toys for two super lucky winners!). And even if you don’t win the giveaway, I highly suggest giving these toys a shot. Who knows, maybe you’ll end up building a fleet of them too!
