Third Pregnancy :: Week 38

Third Pregnancy : Week 38

Week 38 Photo Series_Third Pregnancy

I have another appointment this afternoon. I’m so curious to see if I’m more dilated and effaced than I was last week (I was 1.5 cm dilated and 30% effaced).  I’m hoping I am. I’ll keep you all posted on that.

I’m also just happy to say that this week is going really well so far. Yesterday was a great day (Abby had school, Mac and I went for a 3 mile walk, we started a mini garden, we sang to the Frozen soundtrack 100 times, etc). Today has been pretty darn good as well…we went to the YMCA and I got a wonderful workout in, we went to the park, we had a picnic outside for lunch, and the girls are peacefully sleeping right now.

Gosh, and I just got off the phone with my sister-in-law…what a great day! We’ve been trying to chat more often and I feel like we’re actually making it happen. Yay! 🙂 After I post this, I get to hop in the shower and get ready for a kid-free afternoon (yay for a babysitter and a doctor’s appointment!).

All is good around here!

Age of Abigail ::
3 years

Age of Mackenzie ::
18 months

How far along:
38 weeks

How big is baby:
The size of a leek

Weight gain this week (followed by total weight gain for this pregnancy thus far):
2 lbs (38 lbs) I’m just packing on the pounds…the funny thing is that I’m not sure where it’s all going…my belly is getting bigger but not much else is. Hey, I’ll take it!

Maternity clothes:
Workout clothes only. I’m lucky Travis loves that I’m sporty.

Stretch marks:

Belly button:

Sleep has still been great. We’re getting those 2 weeks of awesome rest I was hoping for.  Big thanks to Travis for always waking up with Mac when she gets up 30-45 minutes before anyone else wants to.

Best moment(s) of the week:
Hearing Travis’ voice coming up the back steps at 5:15pm last night…it was a miracle!  I asked him to come home early this week and he DID IT!!!  What a difference almost 2 hours makes!

Food cravings:
Chocolate and cereal.

Food aversions:

Heartburn even when I’m good about taking my Pepcid AC.
Itchy skin.
Weight gain.
Dark line on my belly.
Swelling when I’m on my feet too long.

Super ACTIVE as always – I think she’s trying to break out!

Caroline is a GIRL!

What I’m looking forward to:
The weekend. Because once the weekend is here, it means we’re CLOSE. My Mom arrives on Monday and we’re schedules to have CJ on Wednesday. Crazy.

What I’m nervous about:
Same as last week…having Caroline early.

What I miss:
Wearing “normal” clothes…soon enough!

Next appointment:
This afternoon, May 6th.

Comparison to my First Pregnancy (Abigail):
