Third Pregnancy :: Week 37

Third Pregnancy : Week 37

Week 37 Photo Series_Third Pregnancy

I am still feeling pretty darn good these days. I’m tired, but I’m good.  I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday and I got to see Caroline in an ultrasound. She’s looking gigantic, my placenta is at the tippy top of my belly (right next to her bum), her head is down, her legs are everywhere it seems, and I’m 1.5 cm dilated and 30% effaced. Since this is my third pregnancy (check out some stats from when I was 38 weeks last time), that doesn’t mean a whole lot but it’s nice to know.  At this point, I have one appointment next week, and one the following week to officially schedule C’s birth the following day. It’s crazy how quickly everything is happening!

I’m getting anxious to meet Caroline, but I want her to stay in until May 14th so that my Mom can be here and so that she has plenty of time to grow and get plump (and honestly, it’s because I’m just not mentally prepared for her to come early…I suppose I should work on that just in case). This past weekend, Travis and I went to work on getting things prepped for her. We moved the crib into her room, set up Mac’s big girl bed (which she’s only successfully slept in once – she and Abby just have WAY too much fun together in their room at nap time), got out the swing, cleaned out the car seat, brought out baby clothes, pulled out the pump, setup her elephants, and did about a bagillion other things.

All that’s really left to do is pack my bags (one for me and one for C), put the car seat in the car, and be patient.

We’re feeling very, very ready!!

How far along:
37 weeks

How big is baby:
The size of a bunch of Swiss chard (interesting)

Weight gain this week (followed by total weight gain for this pregnancy thus far):
3 lbs (36 lbs) – water weight??!?!?!  haha

Maternity clothes:
Workout clothes and I’ll occasionally throw on my maternity skinny jeans that are pretty much like wearing yoga pants. My only real problem is that my tops aren’t fitting me well and I’m feeling like a blimp in most “maternity” clothes I have. Oh well…almost there!

Stretch marks:
None.

Belly button:
Innie/Outie

Sleep:
Sleep has been fantastic this week. Now that the crib is in Caroline’s room, Mac sleeps in there and Abby sleeps in her room so they don’t wake each other up in the night from coughing or calling for Mommy and Daddy. They’ve just been sleeping peacefully through the night…it’s been lovely. This is exactly what I need for the next two weeks.

Best moment(s) of the week:
Getting things ready for Caroline. Her room is coming along!

Food cravings:
Quinoa.

Food aversions:
None.

Symptoms:
Itchy skin.
Weight gain.
A faint dark line on my belly.
Swelling when I’m on my feet too long.
Exhaustion.

Movement:
ACTIVE!

Gender:
Caroline is a GIRL!

What I’m looking forward to:
Seeing our maternity pictures. The girls were NOT in the mood to have their pictures taken (they were literally running every direction except towards the camera) and every time Abby went to kiss Mac per our request, Mac would scream at her and try to smack her away. It was actually pretty hilarious but I’m not sure what it’ll mean for our pictures…haha…real life was certainly captured, I’m sure!

What I’m nervous about:
Having Caroline before the 14th. There are many reasons why that makes me nervous. We’re just not ready for that.

What I miss:
I know I say this every few weeks because apparently I have nothing else that I miss, but I really miss delicious craft cocktails. I cannot wait to have one.

Next appointment:
May 6th.

Comparison to my First Pregnancy (Abigail):
Here’s Week 37!

Comparison to my Second Pregnancy (Mackenzie):
Here’s Week 37!

Until next time,
7x7xMommy
