Third Pregnancy : Week 32
We’re home and we couldn’t be happier to be back with the girls. We absolutely loved our vacation and having time away, but there’s nothing like being home. When I was busy cooking and cleaning up after everyone yesterday, I smiled because it felt so right. This is what I was meant to do. Such a great feeling to come home to so many things I love after having some time away with Travis. We’re right back into the swing of school, play dates, and too-late-of-bedtimes (to catch up on snuggles we missed last week, obviously).
It’s such a crazy thought that in 7 short weeks we’re going to have another wonderful addition to our family which will add a new dimension of crazy, excitement, and utter chaos. We can hardly wait.
Mac decided to join me for pictures today…she’s getting so big!
How far along:
How big is baby:
The size of a jicama
Weight gain this week (followed by total weight gain for this pregnancy thus far):
1 lb (26 lbs total)
On vacation I wore dresses, bathing suits, and some shorts…since being home, I’ve been living in my “uniform” (workout clothes and sweatpants). After some rain this week, I’m hoping the weather will get warmer and I’ll be able to wear some shorts and dresses around here as well. That would be sooooo nice!!!
Innie, but sort of looking like an outie. If it’s anything like last time, it will never actually poke all the way out. Instead, it’ll look funny for a couple weeks after having Caroline and then it’ll go back to “normal” after that. Abby currently uses my belly button as the gateway to Caroline – it’s where she communicates with her, tickles her, and gives her love. Abby cannot WAIT for Caroline to come out. Her purple blanket is already waiting for her (thanks Kiki!). Abby tried to bring it to the zoo today but I convinced her that Baby Caroline won’t need her special blanket until she comes out. Luckily for me, she agreed without any unnecessary confrontation.
I can definitely say I caught up on sleep while on vacation. The last couple nights I even found it hard to sleep because I felt so rested (can’t say that often as a parent, right?) and I was wondering how the girls were doing. It’s a good thing I caught up though because the girls have been waking up pretty darn early since we got home! That, and they’re both recovering from colds right now so sleep hasn’t been as great as usual. I don’t mind. In 7 weeks I’ll barely be sleeping at all, so I might as well get used to it now. I know how this drill goes…
Best moment of the week:
Hugging the girls when we got home. Abby almost cried because she was so happy to see us. I’m not sure if it gets better than that.
Fresh pesto. I made an amazing batch last night and I plan on incorporating it into our meals all week. Yum!
My red spots are getting more red. A lot more red.
General tired feeling.
Sometimes Caroline moves into strange, uncomfortable positions.
Very active little lady. She still LOVES to become active right as I lay down in bed at night. It’s actually perfect timing because then Travis can feel her move around. Last night I was convinced she was trying to kick (or punch) her way out of my belly. She must be excited to meet her sisters or something.
Caroline is a GIRL!
What I’m looking forward to:
Abby drinking milk again. She’s on a strike for some reason and it’s driving me crazy considering how much milk she normally drinks.
I’m also looking forward to celebrating our 4 year Wedding Anniversary on Thursday. I suppose you could say we’ve accomplished a lot in those 4 years…we don’t have any big plans for Thursday (I’ll probably make something delicious for dinner at home), but it’s just fun to celebrate another amazing year together! Gosh, and to think…it seems like it was just yesterday we were gearing up to say “I Do.”
What I’m nervous about:
The next 7 weeks going by TOO fast.
What I miss:
The warmth of Hawaii and the rarity of having other people clean up after ME for a week…
Until next time,
