Third Pregnancy :: Week 22

Third Pregnancy :: Week 22

Week 21 Photo Series_Third Pregnancy

Age of Abigail ::
2 years, 11.5 months…almost 3!

Age of Mackenzie ::
14 months

How far along:
22 weeks

How big is baby:
The length of a spaghetti squash.

Weight gain this week (followed by total weight gain for this pregnancy thus far):
5 lbs* (13 lbs total)
*5 lbs since Week 18…that’s the last time I weighed myself

Maternity clothes:
Lots of maternity clothes!  I just received a package of new maternity clothes from Eve of Eden Maternity that I look forward to trying on (post to come) now that I finally look pregnant. Hopefully they fit and I can wear them all the time!

Stretch marks:

Belly button:

Sleep has been rough since we flew back to CA from GA. The girls typically adjust to the time change in a day or two, but this has been the worst adjustment yet. We’ve been home since Friday afternoon and they’ve woken up between 3:45am and 4:15am every day since then. Needless to say, we’re feeling a bit sleep deprived. I’m sure they’ll adjust soon, but I’m hoping it happens sooner rather than later!

Best moment of the week:
Landing on Friday afternoon. My Mom and I were pretty sure that flight was never going to end. Mac is at the hardest age to fly right now (in my opinion…and I’ve done a LOT of flying with the girls). All she wanted to do was move around and make friends. Abby was a piece of cake (thank goodness…no puking this time around), so at least that was helpful!

Food cravings:
Quinoa in all different forms. Stay tuned for my favorite recipe…I’m working on writing it/taking pictures.

Food aversions:

Weight gain.
Growing belly.
My red spots are getting more red (typical for me).

She definitely moves around, but I’m still waiting for the BIG kicks and rolls. I love those.

Caroline is a GIRL!

What I’m looking forward to:
Having a date night (or two) with Travis while my Mom is in town. Date night #1 is tonight!

What I’m nervous about:
Feeling sad when my Mom goes home.

What I miss:
Nothing at the moment. All is right in the world.

Next appointment:
January 15th.  It was supposed to be today, but today is the first day of Abby and Mac’s new music class so we didn’t want to miss out on that!!

Comparison to my First Pregnancy (Abigail):
Here’s Week 22!

Comparison to my Second Pregnancy (Mackenzie):
Here’s Week 22!

Until next time,

    I am considering having two kids close in age, but was wondering how that would affect the supply and taste of breast milk for the child still breastfeeding. Did you have any experience with this or was this not an issue (already weaned/ formula)? He seems to really enjoy breastfeeding and I would hate to have him stop before he was ready.

      Hi Tiffany! To be honest, I don’t have experience with this because Abby was weaned at 8 months and Mac was at 10 months. Sorry I can’t be more of a help!! I’m sure there are lots of great resources out there that would have more info because I know other people who have gone through this. Good luck with everything! We absolutely love having our girls close in age. 🙂
