Thanksgiving at the James Residence

It’s almost been a week since we hosted our first Thanksgiving and I’m still happy as can be about how well it went.

Everything went smoothly (minus the knife wound).

My organic, sage-butter roasted Turkey turned out perfectly (thank goodness).

The sides were incredible (especially the cornbread stuffing with sausage and roasted sweet potatoes).

My sous chefs were very helpful.

The table looked beautiful.

The girls were happy as clams.

Even my Salted Caramel Apple Pie turned out delicious (dough from scratch and all!).

I’ve always been confident in my cooking skills, but never really in my hosting abilities…and while entertaining is still not something I’m super duper skilled in or comfortable with, I must say I feel much better about future events thanks to how successful Thanksgiving was.

I’m fairly certain everyone enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the low-key nature of it all.

I’m happy to say that I look forward to hosting many Thanksgivings in the future!
