Summer is officially here in San Francisco and we couldn’t be happier.
Our summer, also known as an Indian Summer, begins in September and can last until late October or early November. All I can say is that after months and months of fog rolling in and out of the Bay when most cities are enjoying a “normal summer” (including cities only 20 minutes away from San Francisco), we deserve this incredible sun and warmth.
It’s my absolute favorite time of year in San Francisco and I’m pretty darn sure our girls feel the same way.
This past weekend was amazing and we were lucky enough to take advantage of the sun and warmth by packing up a picnic and heading over to Fort Mason (along with every 22-27 year old residing in the Marina). Apparently we were the only parents who had the idea because other than when our friends stopped by to hang out for a bit, we didn’t see any other kids. What the heck!? It was the perfect place for the girls to run around on the grass, throw a baseball, and people watch!
The energy was great out there…people were enjoying music, playing cornhole, and taking advantage of the fact they could finally work on their “tans.” Abby joined right in…
Mac enjoyed the sun, she tried a bite of Mommy’s BLT (well, she attempted to take a bite), she snoozed in the warmth, and she played with her big sis.
Mommy and Daddy just kicked back, relaxed, watched the girls, and soaked up the sun.
If only the weather were always like this in San Francisco…we would never want to leave. Since it’s not always like this, however, we just need to make sure we’re enjoying these beautiful days and getting outside with the girls when we can.
Fingers crossed there are many more days like this to come!
