Over a year ago (how is that even possible!?), I gave Abby her first “haircut.” The word haircut is in quotes because I’m the furthest thing from a hair stylist and all I did was trim some bangs, but it was a change nonetheless. Ever since that “cut,” I’ve trimmed her bangs fairly regularly but have yet to tackle the rest of her hair. It just seemed too daunting a task.
Luckily enough for all of us my Mom, Kiki, is a hair stylish extraordinaire! She’s been my hair stylist for 29 years now and the only haircuts I can complain about are the ones she hasn’t given me (and I’ve only let other people cut my hair a grand total of three times in those 29 years). Does it suck being across the country from your hair stylist? Yes. But it’s well worth the wait!
Anyway, Abby was fortunate enough to receive a special Kiki haircut last week and she couldn’t have been happier. She was able to sit and watch Sesame Street, her baby kept her company, and at the end of it all, she was able to admire her new ‘do in a hand held mirror.
Here’s the before (quite dramatic, right!?) ::
Here’s the process ::
And here’s the after (I love every single thing about this first photo) ::
Everything is evened up and looking so incredibly healthy (kind of like my own hair which waited 6 months for a trim!). Her bangs are out of her eyes and her hair is much more manageable ::
Everyone’s happy with the results and now Abby will just have to wait an unknown amount of time until her next cut! A big thanks to Kiki for Abby’s (and Mommy’s) new ‘do!
Check out the rest of the pictures below…they’re pretty darn cute if I say so myself.
Until next time,
