Well, we’re officially home safe and sound from our latest adventures in Atlanta. We’re so happy to be reunited with Daddy and to be back in our “normal” routines and sleep schedules (well, almost…it was a 3 hour time change followed by an overnight trip to San Luis Obispo so we’re still adjusting), but it’s always hard to leave my parents, brother, sister-in-law, and niece. It’s hard to leave the weather. It’s hard to leave the space and the yards. It’s hard to leave Belle…
It’s just hard being across the country from my other best friends. It doesn’t feel right.
That being said, it also doesn’t feel right being away from this guy (and I think it’s safe to say the girls agree with me).
Luckily, our little core family unit is reunited and it does feel so good.
As far as traveling home went, it was fantastic. Kiki traveled with us (thank goodness – I don’t think I’m ready to travel with two kids cross country by myself yet – my latest experience with one was enough to scare me off that venture for a while), the girls were fantastic and napped at the same time, and there weren’t any major meltdowns or problems. It was smooth sailing…well, smooth flying at least.
Abby loved looking out the window.
Mac loved looking at Abby.
And I can’t usually say this, but being on the plane for six hours didn’t feel that long at all.
Gosh, what on earth am I going to do when I head to Vegas in a few weeks all by myself!?! I feel like I’m better flying with kids than flying alone at this point! I digress…
Back to my point…our trip was fantastic and I love my family and that’s why it’s such a bittersweet feeling to be home in San Francisco. Thankfully, we only have about six weeks until our next (super quick) trip to Atlanta. Woohoo!
Until then, we’re going to enjoy every moment with Daddy, we’re going to explore more of the city (including an upcoming trip to the California Academy of Sciences – yay!), and we’re going to try our hardest to not let this little apartment drive us completely crazy! Thankfully, the girls don’t mind tight spaces…
