When I first arrived in Atlanta three weeks ago, my Mom and I sat down and made a list of all the things we wanted to do with the girls. There was Babyland, LEGOLAND, the Zoo, Stone Mountain, swimming lessons, visiting the fire station, etc. One of the things I really wanted to do was have a picnic in Piedmont Park with the girls.
I LOVE Piedmont Park. It’s walking distance from my parent’s house (about 15 minutes away). It’s big, beautiful, open, and green. There’s a swimming pool (where we had swim lessons), tennis courts, basketball courts, a lake, ducks to feed, picnic benches, and much more. It’s such a lovely place to spend time. Out of all the walks we’ve been on (at least one walk a day), walking over to Piedmont Park is by far my favorite destination for a big loop.
So when I was thinking of activities that both the girls would enjoy (not to mention Belle), I thought a picnic in the park would be perfect.
And it was.
We kept it simple with snacks, waters, and a big open area for Abby (and Kiki) to run around in, and everyone enjoyed it. We also fed the ducks, turtles, and fish. Such a great time and such a simple adventure to go on!
Enjoy the rest of the slideshow below…and if you’re in the Atlanta area, I think visiting Piedmont Park is an absolute MUST.
We’re heading back to San Francisco tomorrow…wish us luck on our flight!
