We Adopted a Kid…a Cabbage Patch Kid

Last week I briefly mentioned our trip to Babyland (the home of the Cabbage Patch Kids) in Cleveland, GA. As promised, I wanted to do a little follow up. You see, our family expanded on Friday.

We adopted a Cabbage Patch Kid. I mean, how could we not take her home after seeing the bond she and baby Mac had!?!

Her name is Charlotte Mae, she has green eyes, adorable freckles, and she loves to wear her super comfy carter’s pajamas all day, every day.

The funny part about this is that I’m not joking at ALL. At Babyland General Hospital, Cabbage Patch babies are delivered every 30 minutes or so in front of a crowd (and when I say delivered, I mean a cabbage is giving birth to a doll).

The babies receive names right away (from the audience, of course) and they’re even taken off to a nursery for special care.

Nurses are walking around at all times just in case something goes awry (and just in case doctor Abby is requesting a photo)…

And all babies born are up for “adoption.”  Seriously…after we “adopted” (aka – used a credit card to buy) little Charlie Mae (that’s her nickname), we went into another room to sign the adoption papers.

It was such a trip!

And my goodness, while it might have seemed completely looney tunes to the adults, the kiddos were in HEAVEN (though you’d never know it by this picture that we took at the very end – I just had to share it!).

But there were babies everywhere.

Toys everywhere.

And kids everywhere (mostly of the Cabbage Patch variety)!!!

It was such a fantastic experience for them to have and if you’re ever in Georgia, I would highly recommend making the trek (it took us an hour and a half each way from Atlanta).

They loved every single second of it, each in their own way!

On top of everything else that was fantastic about the day, these three cousins were loving every second of being together. They were like three peas in a pod.

Until next time!
