Sharky’s her name and biting’s her game.
That’s right, my sweet little baby who I claimed didn’t bite much has officially become a nibbler (and when I say nibbler, I really mean she suddenly chomps on me as if I’m a delicious piece of chocolate that she’s been longing for forever). Oh, and she’s not nibbling with two teeth anymore. Four new teeth have come in this month to make a total of six daggers. Although you can’t see all of them in this particular shot, I’m sure you get the idea.
While the biting hurts, and I mean it hurts pretty darn bad, I’m still nursing her exclusively (well, I think she’s had 3 bottles of formula to date). That’s something I’m proud of. I’m not sure how long I’ll end up nursing her but for now, I see no need to stop (unless she ends up biting my nipple completely off in the coming weeks and months – TMI? haha, well I’m sort of joking…). In all seriousness, I know that nursing is great for her, it’s great for me, and it’s great for us so I have no intention to stop anytime soon (though I’m putting zero pressure on myself if I all of a sudden have the desire to stop – at this point with Abby, I was about half and half between nursing and formula).
All I know is that Baby Mac is the happiest, sweetest, and snuggliest (I made that word up) baby in the whole world.
Another fun fact is that she sucks her thumb now. As most of you know, she never took a pacifier (thank goodness) and decided her thumb was a better option. She only sucks on it right before naptime or bedtime and it’s honestly adorable. She leans into my chest, rests her head on me, and sucks her thumb. It’s heaven on earth, I kid you not.
Anyway, she’s doing so well and now that she sleeps like a champ, we’re all feeling like we’re in a fantastic routine.
Life is back to normal. A new normal. And it’s the most perfect “normal” we could ever ask for.
Before I get to more new pictures, let’s take a little walk down memory lane.
Here’s our 1 day old ::
Here she was at 1 month ::
Here she was at 2 months ::
Here she was at 3 months ::
Here she was at 4 months ::
Here she was at 5 months ::
Here she was at 6 months ::
Here she was at 7 months ::
And here she is at 8 months ::
is 1 fantastic sleeper (thank goodness and knock on wood – we’re talking nearly 12 hrs a night)
still takes 2 naps a day (and she’s been a machine ever since sleep training)
is about to head to Atlanta for the 3rd time (quite the traveler)
has flown round trip 4 times (the latest being international!)
I have nothing witty or relevant for #5 …sorry!
has 6 full blown teeth (that would be +4 for the month)
successfully spent 7 days in Mexico
is 8 months old
and I have ever reason in the world to believe that I’m the luckiest Mommy around
And just for fun, here’s a little video from today. My littlest love in action.
Until next time!
