Toddler Style :: Mix & Match

A week or so ago I received a comment from one of my fantastic readers (who also writes a blog of her own – check it out here) and she had a great suggestion for my blog :: to write about Abby’s unique style.

While a part of me thinks this is just plain silly and that I have zero credibility because all I wear are yoga pants and running shoes every day, I do get lots of questions and comments about Abby’s clothes (and boots).  I have to say, I enjoy dressing her more than I ever thought possible being that I’m the furthest thing from a fashionista.

That being said, Abby’s style is definitely unique. I’ve always referred to it as hippie meets Punky Brewster. It’ll be interesting to see how long she lets me dress her so uniquely before she puts up a fight.  Her current input consists of choosing between a few options I lay out for her and every once in a while, she’ll open up her drawers and pull out her favorite dress (which I’ll write about someday, I’m sure).

Anyway, I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to structure these Toddler Style posts, but I figure I’ll include a photo of Abby in whatever she’s wearing that day and point you in the direction of where we purchased the pieces (or where we were gifted them from).  I’m already finding that about half of Abby’s wardrobe is no longer available on the retailers sites anymore, but I’ll link to them anyway since there are other great options to choose from.

If you ever see a photo of either of the girls and wonder where we found their clothes, let me know and I’ll do my best to write about it!

Hoodie :: Carter’s (thanks, Mimi!)

Dress :: Old Navy (they have surprising adorable dresses and rompers and I love some of their prints)

Leggings :: FabKids (thanks, Scotty!)

Socks :: Carter’s (thanks, Emmy!)

Boots :: Kohl’s (they no longer have these boots but I found some similar ones on Piperlime…they just happen to be more expensive)

As you can see and will quickly learn, we find clothes from all different types of places and while there are certain brands we are drawn to (hint :: Tea), we absolutely love to mix & match.

The more color and personality, the better!

Oh, and if I’m aware of any awesome sales on our favorite websites, I’ll let you know about those as well because who doesn’t love a good sale (for example, everything at Old Navy is currently 30% off!)?!

    Thank you, thank you!! I’m totally with you – I have a closet full of gorgeous pre-baby clothes and somehow manage to wear yoga pants 24/7. I kind of envy those mommies who look put together every day; I’ve totally de-prioritized. I suppose for now, we’ll live vicariously through our daughters’ styles 🙂

    I love, love, love those boots and the way you paired the tights with the dress! Looking forward to more Abby (and Mac) style posts, and writing up our own for Olivia 🙂

      Haha, exactly. I always figure Abby looks cute enough for all of us, so Mac and I get the shaft when it comes to getting ready. (though even Mac has made priority over me!)

      I’ll be on the lookout for posts on Olivia’s style as well!!!
