Abby & Mac’s 1st Trip to the Snow

We experienced another first this weekend :: we took the girls to the snow for the first time ever, thanks to an invitation from Gigi and Gpa!

Everything about it was so wonderful. Kirkwood was relatively quiet, the sun was out and the weather was warm (low-mid 50’s which made this “I can’t stand being cold” Mommy very happy), and the snowย (and sticks) kept Abby entertained for hours.IMG_9642IMG_9648 IMG_9624 IMG_9619
The view outside our window was to die for and our snow shoeing adventure was one to remember!

Of course, being the little adventurer that she is, Abby absolutely loved sledding down the hills over and over and over again (which made Mommy and Daddy happy because we loved doing it as well).ย  Even baby Mac got in on the action thanks to the good old baby bjorn.
The best part was spending time with family. Abby loved her time with Gigi, Gpa, Aunt Amaya (“Maya”) and Uncle Doug (“Unc Doug”) and we were able to share delicious meals and wonderful wine together.

The drive there and back posed the biggest challenge being that Mac had no desire to sit in her car seat for hours on end, but Abby did a surprisingly great job of entertaining herself (music always helps!).ย  While there’s no way we’ll be climbing in the car for another 4-5 hour drive anytime too soon, it was absolutely worth it and I’m sure Abby will be talking about the snow for weeks to come!
Time to make Abby some Mac’n’Cheese since she’s beginning to stir in her bed…

Kirkwood is a beautiful place and the weather was sunny and perfect! I loved sledding with Abby and so did Gpa. Always thrilling to be there for the firsts. We’ve got ourselves some young adventurers for sure.:)
