Abby’s 2 Year Pediatrician Appointment & Stats

One thing hasn’t changed since Abby’s 18 month appointment…she still HATES going to the doctor.

You’d never know based on the couple pictures I took (see above), but the scene changed dramatically when Dr. Langston walked into the room.

Once he came in, Abby started screaming and didn’t stop until 10 minutes after her appointment. Last time, she was screaming “owie Mommy” over and over again and this time she was mixing it up between “owie Mommy,” “home Mommy,” and “go! Mommy!” – it was awful. Gosh, and to top it off this time, Mac woke up half way through the appointment and added to the screaming.  Once again, you’d never know based on this picture…

The joys of parenting, right?

I’m sure everyone in the waiting room wondered what kind of torture was going on in the “purple room.”  My girls have some LUNGS.

Goodness, and I was sweating like a pig.  I was trying to keep my calm and be the “rock” for my little ladies, but I must have been beet red and glistening with sweat. I kept telling Abby that we were going to the Jungle Gym at the YMCA after her appointment, but she was set on screaming…so she screamed.

Luckily, everyone calmed down once we were in the car and Abby had a blast at the YMCA.  Oh, and Abby has continued to sprout up…if you go with what some people say and double their height at 2, that number is how tall they’ll be when they’re done growing.  With that math, we’re looking at having a 6 footer…what!?  Stats below…

Oh, and on the bright side, here’s a look at her time at the YMCA 🙂

And as usual, here’s a little recap of the past 24 months!

  1. So I’ll be the first to say how wonderful these “growth” photos were and how downright interesting! Now, the beauty of the two Babes, Abby and Mac-Marie, weeeellllllllllll, as their greatgreat granma Lolly , THEY ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, SMARTEST LIL’ babies in the whole wide world, just like their sweet mama Alison. OK,OK Travis, yes you did have something to do with it, but realize, this is just girl talk now, and hey guy, get used to it, you’re already surrounded by three. Ask Carl Fase how that works! Tee hee. Wow how I’ like to hug those little cuties! Your lives are full and wonderful!

grandma sally you’re so sweet! I’m so glad you enjoyed the series of growth photos! I always have fun looking at it when I go to update it with new information. 🙂 I’m going to be VERY glad I wrote this blog when the girls are a little older! And I’m also biased, but I agree with you…these two little ladies are something else! Love you and happy birthday – I hope you have a great time with everyone up in Seattle!

[…] Today was Abigail’s 2 1/2 year pediatrician appointment and I’m happy to say that it was the very first appointment she hasn’t screamed bloody murder at. She was such a big girl. She let the doctor listen to her heart, look in her mouth, and shine a light in her eyes all without complaining once. She actually seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience – such a drastic change from previous appointments. […]
