Was it really a year ago that we had a baby??? Was it really a year ago that she looked like this?
1.25.11 (1st Doctor’s Appointment)
- BMI: 13.3
- Height: 18.99″ (~50th percentile)
- Weight: 6.82 lbs (~25th percentile)
- Head Circumference: 13.19″ (~30th percentile)
Was it really 6 months ago that she looked like THIS!?! What a cute little baldy!!! And 6 months ago that she started eating solids?
7.25.11 (6 Months Later)
- BMI: 16.2
- Height: 25.6″ (~50th percentile)
- Weight: 15.05 lbs (~30th percentile)
- Head Circumference: 16.53″ (~30th percentile)
And while I don’t have the exact numbers from her 9 month appointment on hand (note to self: ask for all stats at 15 month appointment), that’s when her brain must have really grown because her head circumference went from the 30th percentile to the 75th!
And here we are at the 1 year mark and there’s been another jump in my favorite stat of all…HEIGHT!!! As a 5’10″ (and a quarter) woman who’s extremely proud of being tall, I can’t help but feel a little excited about this jump in numbers. Plus, with a KiKi (gradma) who is 5’1″ (and three quarters) and a Gappy (Grandpa) who is 6’6″ (and no quarters) on one side and a 5’1″ Grandma and 5’9″ Grandpa on the other side, you just never know…
Check out the stats from her 12 month appointment:
1.30.12
- BMI: 16.52
- Height: 29.75″ (~70th percentile!!!)
- Weight: 20.8 lbs (~40th percentile)
- Head Circumference: 18.25″ (~75th percentile)
The only part about this appointment that was upsetting was the fact that she needed 4 shots + 1 finger prick (to check for lead – it came out normal). She was DEVASTATED. I’ve never heard or seen Abigail so upset. That wasn’t fun for anyone…the worst part is that she wasn’t feeling well last night either and slept terribly. Our poor baby.
Other than that, she checked out perfectly.
Here are some things we will need to work on in the coming weeks (which I’m sure I’ll be writing about because I have a feeling the first bullet point is going to be an interesting one):
- Bye Bye, Binky!
- Adios, Baby Bottles!
- Patience with Sleep Regression…it’s normal!
Wish us luck…and as always, if you’re ever looking for a pediatrician in San Francisco, we absolutely LOVE Dr. Langston. He is amazing with Abigail!
Have a great day,
