Man oh man…more vegetables.
I must say – I look very forward to introducing some proteins (which according to Abby’s pediatrician will begin around 9 months*) and eventually, introducing some delicious fruits.
But for now, we’ll follow the guidelines provided by Dr. Langston and continue on our veggie journey with…drum-roll, please…
Here goes nothing…
Step 1: Buy some zucchini (guess where I purchased mine…) and rinse
Step 2: Cut zucchini into 1″ rounds (mine are smaller because I wanted them to steam faster) and steam until very tender, approximately 5-9 minutes
Step 3: Puree zucchini in a food processor until smooth. Unlike many of the other purees we’ve made, this one doesn’t need any extra water. If you’d like to make the consistency thicker, you can add some rice cereal or oatmeal cereal (or something similar)
Step 4: Get baby ready to eat (she looks a little skeptical…)!
*we shared some grilled chicken with her last week…haha, from my favorite pizza – she LOVED it
**since baby will eat the peel, it’s recommended that you buy organic zucchini if possible (I read this note after purchasing my non-organic zucchini – Abigail appears to be just fine after testing, but moving forward I’ll buy organic)
